December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

I made a birthday card for my little cutie pie this month. I used older paper from the Dream Pop pack because she will love the colors. I love the texture on the cardstock too. You can get the same effect by using the "Paper Fundamentals". The cupcake was colored using our ShinHan markers.

November's Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to November's Stamp of the Month blog hop! This month we are showcasing "Its the Little Things" a set of  15 stamps and have a bunch of consultants participating for lots of inspiration!  If you are coming from Pamela's blog, you are on the right track. It's okay if you are starting here; just be sure to complete the circle so you don't miss any of the wonderful projects my fellow consultants have created.

This is the card I made this month.  It is made from one of the cards and paper piece sets of the Pathfinding card kit. Can you guess which one?
While I liked the designs of the cards in the kit, I really did not want to make more than one of each. So, I challenged myself to redesign the others using the same cut pieces of paper but just changing the stamp sets.  It was easier than I expected.  I will post the rest of my cards in a few days.

Challenge yourself to use traditional supplies in non-traditional ways.  Use colors you don't normally choose, combine patterned paper that isn't part of the same palette, use brads or eyelets in unusual ways.  Be brave; it will push your creativity to fresh, new levels.

The card I made this month:

This was an easy and quick card to make and I'm happy with the results.  I used a "Designer Creations slate paper bag" for my envelope and dressed it up with a band that hints of what's inside. The card was made using "Thistle" cardstock (what a beautiful new color!) and B&T from the "Scaredy Cat" paper pack; just two of the beautiful papers in our new Annual Inspirations Idea Book.

If the colors in your photos are clashing with the colors you want to use in your layout, consider changing your photos to black and white.  This is easily accomplished with photo editing software or a quick trip to the store.

I have been working on cleaning and organizing my scraproom this month; so I decided to make a card using my scraps. I just finished using the bright and cheery "Jubilee" paper packet so, that is where my color scheme came from.

I had several pieces of cardstock that had been embossed which I cut into one inch squares to make the background. The letters were stamped and then colored with pencils.

The inside was decorated with some more scraps. The sentiment was stamped with the lower case letters from the set and put on a spring so it would pop up when the card is opened.

Here is the card folded down.

There is a panel on the back to write your sentiment.
