Colors are Cranberry and Olive.  It would make cute little gifts for the kids to give their classmates.

Before tossing or donating household items, consider how they could be repurposed as scrapbook storage. For example, CD cases are ideal for storing clear stamps and a colander works well hung from the underside of a shelf with ribbons poking down through the holes.

July Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the July Stamp of the Month blog hop. This month we are showcasing "Life is Wonderful" a set of  8 stamps and have about 50 consultants participating for lots of inspiration!  If you are coming from Lauren's blog, you are on the right track. It's okay if you are starting here; just be sure to complete the circle so you don't miss any of the wonderful projects my fellow consultants have created.

The card I made this month uses B&T paper from the Seaside paper pack. I love the rustic feel of this paper and I think it could be used in so many types of projects. I masked the Always Remember stamp to create the top panel. For the bottom panel I stamped the frame on Colonial White cardstock, rounded and cut slits in the corners, then inserted one of the Jackson "Picture My Life" cards. I finished it off with hemp and Glacier twine.

It is almost the end of the school year and a very busy time so I wanted to do a card that didn't require a lot of planning.
The size of the card I made is  8 x 3 1/2 inches. It is a clean and simple card that was quick to make. Since the card base is only a single piece of cardstock, I decided to dress it up a bit by embossing a frame around it. This was done using CTMH's score board.  I used colored pencils to color the images rather than markers so that I didn't have to worry about bleed through; and covered each with liquid glass. The sentiment on the outside is the stamp from the set which I just masked to use each word separately.  Inside I put another stamped image with a bite out just for fun. The  sentiment was stamped using an alphabet set.

Don't overlook your sewing machine as a tool for scrapbooking.  You can utilize a straight stitch, zig-zag, long, or short stitches.  Use stitching to outline a journaling box or a photo, or create a punched-hole design on your page with an unthreaded needle.

Recipe cards can be a meaningful addition to a layout. Copy a few of your favorite family recipes and add them to pages showing those recipes being enjoyed by friends and family.

Pens, pencils, and markers are tools you use all the time.  Keeping them handy and visible will eliminate any excuses not to journal.  Be sure to store your pens horizontally so that the ink flows smoothly.

Taste of Summer Blog Hop

Welcome to a special blog hop celebrating National Scrapbooking Month!  Close to my Heart is celebrating all month long by offering an exclusive new paper packet and stamp set called "Taste of Summer"!  This cute new paper pack features so many bright, cheery colors that just scream of summer and the coordinating stamp set is a must have for both scrappers and cardmakers.
You may be starting the hop here or coming from Wendy's blog.  Either way be sure to keep clicking  the links on each page so you can see all the great projects my fellow consultants have made.

The project I made to share with you is called a wiper card.  I love to make interactive cards.  It's fun to watch people play with them.
In addition to the "Taste of Summer" paper and stamp set, I used:
Sunset cardstock, Taffy (Retired) cardstock, Sunset and Slate ink, green glitter paper and the thank you stamp is from D1616-Have a happy day.
The card folds flat to 4 1/4 x 6 3/4 inches so, it fits nicely in a 5 x 7 envelope.
Here is a little video to show you how it works:

Enjoy the process of scrapbooking as much as the product.  Completing a layout or an entire scrapbook is very satisfying, but remember to relax and enjoy the journey along the way!

February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the February Stamp of the Month blog hop. This month we are showcasing "A Happy Hello" a set of  15 stamps and have over 60 consultants participating for lots of inspiration!  If you are coming from Peachy's blog, you are on the right track. For some reason when I looked at this stamp set the first thing that came to mind was a quilt. (I know crazy right!)  So I decided to make a card using the Log Cabin pattern from "Originals". I random stamped the various circles using the colors are from the "Brushed" color palette. The Cranberry cardstock was embossed with the new Vine embossing folder found in the Seasonal Supplement.
