February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome! I'm so happy you have joined us in this month's blog hop. Whether you have come from Cindy's blog or are just starting here, you are in for a treat! We are featuring "Piece of Cake" a set of 10 stamps. There are over 70 very talented Close to my Heart consultants ready to show you how versatile this stamp set is. Be sure to make the complete circle; you won't want to miss any of it.

This is the card I made this month:

I stamped all the different cake images on the card front in Grey Wool. The sentiment on the front is embossed in White Daisy as is the cake on the multicolored piece. That is White Daisy CS that was colored with chalk and matted with Citrus Leaf. The sparkles are our clear ones; just colored with my Sharpies (that has been a great money saving trick I've used for a long time...don't ever have to worry about having the wrong color). Inside, I masked off the cake plate and doubled stamped the sentiment in Grey Wool and Citrus Leaf. Then I added a little prisma glitter to give it some bling.

I hope you like what I've shown you. Now hop on over to Nona's blog...I'm sure she has something amazing to show you next! If you get lost along the way, you can see the entire list of blogs in my previous post. And, don't forget this stamp set is only available for the month of February, so order yours today!

Unscripted Sketches #40

This card is based on this week's Unscripted Sketches #40. I love the image of the flowers, it is from Close to my Heart's set called "Enjoy Every Moment". I stamped and then dry embossed the image to make the flowers pop out, then colored them with pastels. The patterned paper is from the "Bella" paper pack and the base of the card is textured cardstock in New England Ivy.
If you're not familar with Close to my Heart's textured cardstock, you should give it a try. It is like getting two for one; since the back side is a lighter shade of the front. I used the lighter shade of this one in the strip down the right side.
February will be a great time to try out this great cardstock, because Close to my Heart is offering Buy One Get One Free! From February 1-28, 2010, 12 x 12 textured cardstock combo packs are not only buy one get one free, but for every offer purchased, CTMH will donate $2.00 to Operation Smile's Haiti relief efforts. How great is that?

Kristin Turns One

Here is a layout I made of our youngest grandchild. I love how the papers went so perfectly with these pictures. Sometimes it does pay to hang on to those older paper packs. These are from CTMH's retired set called Whoops-a-Daisy.

Something Masculine for a Change

For this week's Mojo Monday sketch, I decided to change gears from all the feminine looking projects I've been doing. I took this card in a more masculine direction using a brown and blue color scheme. I have been on a real embossing kick lately and this card is no exception. The belt buckle, star and sentiment are all embossed. All supplies are CTMH, although both the paper and stamp set (belt and buckle) are retired. The sentiment and star are from D1333 Wishing Star. Colors are Bamboo, Cocoa and Indian Corn Blue.

Unscripted Sketches #38

Here is my take on this week's Unscripted sketch #38. Lots of sparkle on this one. I embossed the cupcake cup and sprinkles, and the sentiment. Added glitter, pearl paint to the flower, sparkles and even a glitter brad.

Now I have to just find a sparkly, girly gift to go with it!

Happy Birthday Betty

I am really going to make an effort to not wait until the last minute to make cards this year. It is pretty sad that I can design cards to teach my customers to make, but don't always get the ones I need to send out, made in time.

Here is the card I made for my mother-in-law's birthday. It is based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch 121. All materials are CTMH although the papers are retired.
Wishing everyone a great week!

The Return of My Scraproom

I am so happy to say that I have my scraproom back!!! Back in August, I gave up my scraproom when my daughter, son-in-law and their 3 children moved in with us. I think along with the loss of my creative space, went most of my Mojo. The clutter of merging two households seemed to suck the creative juices right out of me. Happily, the kids are now getting settled in their new house and we are slowly putting ours back in order. I am still trying to get everything organized again, but I thought I would share some pictures of my room.

The room is a good size, with enough space to seat up to twelve for workshops. Which reminds me; I would like to thank my club members for putting up with my disorganization during the last few months!

If anyone has any great organization ideas, please feel free to leave a comment. Thanks!
